FAMILY RESEARCH

The Smythesdale Cemetery Trust is fortunate to have the Burial Register from 1859 and other original documents that can be accessed to assist families in genealogical research.

The Smythesdale Cemetery is divided into sections that reflect the religious denominations of the 1860s goldfields, as well as the more recent non-denominational sections and Ashes Garden.

For families where the grave site cannot be located, the Trust has erected a special monument at the front of the Cemetery to provide an opportunity for memorialisation.

For information about locating a grave site and family research, please contact the Secretary.
