ABOUT THE SMYTHESDALE CEMETERY

The Department of Health and Human Services is responsible for the management of all public cemeteries in Victoria. At the local level, the day-to-day operations and maintenance is managed by a voluntary trust.

Smythesdale Cemetery provides plots for burials in both monumental and lawn section areas. In addition, ashes can be interred in an ashes garden or in existing family plots.

Smythesdale Cemetery is run by the Smythesdale Cemetery Trust. The Trust meets four times a year and holds regular working-bees.

The fee structure was developed by the Trust in consultation with the Department of Health and Human Services and is adjusted annually by CPI. For information about the current fees please contact the Secretary.
